A fishboard — literally a fish-shaped board — is a variation of the traditional skateboard, differing from it primarily in size. The fishboard — called a 'fiszka' in Polish — is considerably smaller than a longboard. A fishboard measures between 53 and 63 cm in length, making it exceptionally portable equipment that you can always carry with you or put in a larger bag or backpack. Its small size also offers another advantage: it is suitable for children.
A fishboard has a distinctive profile. The deck resembles a fish, with a tapered, slightly raised rear and a characteristic streamlined shape. The aerodynamic shape of the fishboard deck means that you can travel considerably faster on flat ground than on a traditional skateboard. However, on a slope, such as a skatepark ramp, the larger board will reach higher speeds.
