Step-by-step adjustment
Children grow in the blink of an eye: you buy shoes one season, only to find they are too tight the next. Fortunately, inline skates do not have to be the same! An adjustable sizing system allows one pair to serve a child for several years. In this article, we explain how the sizing mechanism works, why a correct fit is so important and how to adjust Movino models step by step.

Adjustable inline skate sizing: why does it matter so much?
Correctly adjusting children's inline skates is more than a clever way to save money and avoid buying a new pair every season. Above all, it is essential for learning to skate safely, comfortably and effectively.
A growing child's foot needs stable support. When you choose adjustable inline skates, the boot grows with the wearer's foot, giving you confidence that the equipment fits correctly at every stage of development. A proper fit supports the ankle, helping protect against painful sprains, preventing the ankles from rolling inward and making balance easier for the child.
Why should you avoid buying oversized inline skates?
We are often tempted to buy children's shoes or clothes a size larger so they last longer. However, this is not the best idea when it comes to sporting equipment. Why?
-
Lack of support and risk of injury: in an oversized boot, the foot and heel slide forwards and backwards. The ankle lacks proper support, putting strain on the joints and increasing the risk of falling.
-
Painful rubbing: a loose boot constantly rubs against the skin, which can cause painful abrasions after a dozen or so minutes on the track and discourage further activity.
-
More difficult learning: to control an inline skate efficiently, the foot must work closely with it. If there is too much free space inside, it is much harder for a child to push off, turn and brake effectively.
How do you increase the size of adjustable inline skates? Step-by-step instructions
Wondering how to adjust inline skates without complicated tools? The adjustment mechanism in Movino models is exceptionally simple, intuitive and safe. The whole process takes just a dozen or so seconds. Follow our step-by-step instructions:
Step 1: open the buckles and loosen the laces
Before changing the size, make sure that the cuff and shell are not compressed. Open the upper buckle, release the hook-and-loop strap and loosen the laces as much as possible along the entire boot.
Step 2: press and hold the adjustment button
Find the dedicated button marked PUSH on the side or underside of the shell, near the heel. Press it firmly and hold it down.
Step 3: move the front of the boot
While holding the button down, grasp the toe of the skate with your other hand. Pull it forwards to increase the size, or push it backwards to decrease the size. As you move it, you will feel and hear clicks indicating the next size settings.
Step 4: lock the mechanism and check the fit
Release the PUSH button. Make sure that the movable toe section has engaged in the appropriate recess and locked in a stable position, without sliding on its own. Then put the skate on the child's foot, tie the laces, fasten the buckles and check that it feels comfortable when standing and walking!
Movino inline skate sizes and foot length
To select equipment correctly, always use the actual foot length in centimetres rather than relying only on an everyday shoe size. The following list shows the size ranges and intended age groups for different Movino inline skate sizes:
-
Size S (30–33): inline skates forchildren,
-
Size M (34–37): ideal equipment for girls and boys of school age , with room for adjustment during periods of rapid growth.
-
Sizes L (38–41) and XL (42–45): models for teenagers and adults, with men's inline skates and women's models available in the range.
How do you measure foot length correctly?
- Place the child's foot on a sheet of paper against a wall, with the heel touching the wall.
- Use a pencil to mark the furthest point, at the longest toe.
- Measure the distance from the edge of the sheet to the marked point.
- Add approximately 0.5 cm to allow room for a sock and the foot's natural movement during activity.
